Which AI models can I use, and can I bring my own API key?

Pingly connects to eight AI providers using your own account: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral and xAI (Grok). You paste your own API key, so you pay the provider directly at their rates with no AI markup from us, and you choose which model answers your customers. Four of the eight — Gemini, Groq, Mistral and OpenRouter — have genuine free tiers, so you can run a WhatsApp AI bot at no AI cost at all while you are starting out.

What happens if my AI provider runs out of credit?

You set an order of providers and Pingly fails over automatically. If your primary key runs out of credit or hits a rate limit, the next provider in your list answers that customer instead — mid-conversation, with no action from you. This is why the AI bot does not simply go silent when one account runs dry overnight, which is the usual failure mode on platforms that lock you to a single model.

Can I connect my own Meta WhatsApp Cloud API account to Pingly?

Yes. Pingly connects directly to the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API using your own WhatsApp Business Account, so Meta bills you directly at their own published per-message rates with no reseller markup. You enter your WABA ID, Phone Number ID, access token and app secret in Settings, and a built-in setup check verifies the whole configuration — including the app-to-WABA subscription that Meta's own dashboard does not show. Templates are created, submitted and status-tracked from inside Pingly, and approvals appear in real time. You can also stay on a BSP such as Gupshup, or use personal WhatsApp via QR — the choice is per workspace and can be switched at any time.

Is Pingly a BSP, and can I move from Gupshup to the Meta Cloud API?

Pingly is not a BSP and does not resell WhatsApp messaging, so there is no per-message markup. You can run on a BSP like Gupshup, or connect your own Meta Cloud API account and pay Meta directly. Switching is a single setting per workspace: existing conversations, contacts and history are unaffected, and templates already approved in your Meta account are imported automatically rather than resubmitted.

Can I use WhatsApp without a BSP (Business Solution Provider) account?

Pingly's Voice Routing feature detects incoming WhatsApp voice calls and routes them to your VOIP PBX or SIP system, and agents can answer directly in their browser using the built-in SIP WebPhone — no hardware or separate app needed. If you already run an AI voice agent on your PBX, it can answer WhatsApp calls too. A voice agent hosted by Pingly itself is on the roadmap, not available yet.

How does Pingly's AI bot handle conversations that need a human agent?

Pingly uses a bot-first model. The AI handles all incoming messages automatically. When an agent presses Take over, or replies from their own WhatsApp app, the bot stays silent in that chat until the agent hands it back. If an agent only replies from the inbox without taking over, the bot steps back in after a configurable idle timeout — so no conversation is left waiting.
