How the sync actually works
Worth knowing before you connect anything to a CRM you rely on.
Both directions, or just one
Two-way by default. You can also pull from Zoho only, or push to Zoho only, if one system should stay the source of truth.
Matched on phone number
Numbers are normalised before matching, so +91 98250 54779 and 919825054779 are treated as the same person rather than creating a duplicate.
Incremental, not a full re-import
Pingly tracks the last modified time it saw and asks Zoho only for records changed since. A large contact base does not get re-read every hour.
Your Zoho data centre
Zoho keeps accounts in regional data centres and the API host differs per region. India, EU, US, Australia, Japan and Canada are all supported — India is the default.
It runs on a schedule, not in real time
You choose hourly, every six hours, or daily — and you can run a sync by hand at any time. It is deliberately not instant: a CRM sync that fires on every keystroke burns API quota and turns a Zoho outage into a Pingly outage.
If a contact must exist in Pingly immediately, it is created the moment they message you regardless of the sync. The schedule is about keeping the two systems tidy, not about receiving messages.
What you need to connect it
A Zoho OAuth client ID and secret from the Zoho API console, and your data-centre region. Pingly asks for contact access, plus read access to leads and settings — not write access to anything beyond contacts.
